He sits cross legged in his bed, his fingers rubbing the grain of the leather this way and then that way before deciding that he feels like he had gathered enough courage to turn the page and go to Day Two.

Day two had come about after he had made the decision to leave the planet, the touring having come to an end in the storage container with the remainder of Ianto’s things.

It was a simple scrap of paper in Ianto’s writing, lyrics from a song that had been playing on the radio at his flat the first morning he had stayed the whole night through.

There is a small red book, not bigger than a hand span that is safely tucked in amongst the bits and bobs of Jack’s things that he carries with him from place to place. At first glance it appears that he has finally found some sort of peace, some religion finally catching that tiny place in him that requires forgiveness.

But instead the tiny book has space for 30 days as its intent.

He has filled it with 31 specific memories, a rosary if you would, so that finally he could remember without tears of pain, but instead of smiles.
